The Story of Paul and Melissa

Paul and Melissa Dylan met in Glacier National Park in June, 1999.

They’d both just graduated (Paul from Chico State, Melissa from University of Washington) and took summer jobs working in Glacier. Paul waited tables at Swiftcurrent Motor Inn, and Melissa cleaned rooms and performed in the Cabaret at Many Glacier Hotel.

Shortly after they met wanderlust set in, so even though they’d only known each other a few weeks, they decided to quit their jobs, jump in Melissa’s Chevy Corsica, and take off on a road trip around the country.

The trip lasted 6 months and spanned 40 states.

They got engaged a few weeks into the trip (after knowing each other less than 2 months!), at a campground outside of Cooperstown, New York. And they lived happily ever after!

Below are some pages from the scrapbook Melissa made of the road trip. (Work in progress–more will be added later.) (Click on the pages to view them larger.)
